6 Tips to Make Your iPhone Safer

iPhone and its operating system iOS are known for its security. You as an iPhone user may think it is not necessary to pay too much attention to protect your iPhone. However, it's better safe than sorry. This also holds true for your iPhone, as it indeed has some vulnerabilities that can be utilized. So it's always a good idea to take security measures to protect your iPhone before troubles occur.

1. Set up a strong passcode

This is the first thing you should do when you are trying to do something to secure your iPhone. It helps you stop others from using your iPhone without permission. Also a strong passcode makes it harder for people to know your password just by peeking at it, and it helps your iPhone avoid brute-force password attack.

To use a strong passcode:

1. Open Settings, then go to Face ID/Touch ID & Passcode.
2. Tap Turn Passcode On.
3. Enter a six-digit passcode that others can't guess. If you want to use a stronger passcode (recommended!), tap Passcode Options and select Custom alphanumeric code.
4. Re-enter your passcode to confirm it.

2. Enable the Find My feature

Find My helps you locate your iPhone using its built-in GPS. This is helpful when your iPhone is lost or stolen. It can help you find your iPhone, or, if not, lock or erase your iPhone so nobody can access it.

To enable the Find My feature:

1. Open Settings, tap your name, and go to Find My > Find My iPhone.
2. Turn on Find My iPhone. It is also recommended that you turn on the options below.

3. Keep your iOS up to date

4. Back up your iPhone regularly

It's a good habit to regularly make a backup copy of your iPhone data. You won't lose your data when it's lost or broken. There are three ways to back up your iPhone data:

First: Use iCloud

1. Open Settings, tap your name, and go to iCloud.
2. Enable iCloud Backup.
3. If you want to back up now, tap Back Up Now.

Second: Use iTunes

1. Connect your iPhone to your computer, and open iTunes on your computer. 
2. Select the proper backup settings for you, then click the Back Up Now button.
