How to Download and Install iOS 14 Beta on your iPhone

Apple has released the public betas of iOS 14 since July 9, introducing a lot of interesting new features. If you find iOS 14 fascinating and are eager to have a taste of it now (since it still takes a while for the final stable release to be published), you can join the Apple Beta Software Program and download iOS public beta on your iPhone. It's very easy! And here is how:

Step 1: Check if your iPhone is compatible with iOS 14
iOS 14 is compatible with a majority, but not all, of the iPhones out there. To see if your iPhone is able to run it, take a look at the list below:

Devices compatible with iOS 14 public beta
  • iPhone 11
  • iPhone 11 Pro
  • iPhone 11 Pro Max
  • iPhone XS
  • iPhone XS Max
  • iPhone XR
  • iPhone X
  • iPhone 8
  • iPhone 8 Plus
  • iPhone 7
  • iPhone 7 Plus
  • iPhone 6s
  • iPhone 6s Plus
  • iPhone SE (1st generation)
  • iPhone SE (2nd generation)
  • iPod touch (7th generation)
If your iPhone is on the list, congrats! Now move on to the steps below...

Step 2: Back up your iPhone data
iOS 14 public beta is not a stable release, which means it may not work properly and, if so, you are likely to lose your iPhone data. It is suggested that you back up your iPhone data with iTunes or iCloud. And once you've done that, if any problem occurs, you're able to restore your iPhone with the iTunes backups or iCloud backups. If this can't help you recover your iPhone data, you can also use a third-party data recovery tool to help you.

Step 3: Join Apple Beta Software Program
Now you need to sign up for the Apple Beta Software Program so you're able to download iOS 14 public beta.

1. On your iPhone, go to the Apple Beta Software Program website.

2. Tap Sign up and sign in with your Apple ID.

3. Tap Accept.

4. Tap enroll your iOS device.
5. Tap Download profile and download the profile to your iPhone.

Step 4: Update your iOS to iOS 14 public beta
These are the final steps to get the public beta.

1.  Open the Settings app on your iPhone.

2. Tap Profile Downloaded (under your name).
3. Tap Install, and install the profile.

4. Go back to the home screen of Settings, and then go to General > Software Update.

5. Update your system to iOS 14.

Now wait until the update finishes and enjoy the new features of this system!
